Md Arafat Rahman (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and stored when you use the LaughMeter mobile application (the “App”).

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

The App is designed to be a personal, private journal. We collect the following types of data, all of which is stored locally on your device:

A. User-Provided Content

When you log a laugh or interaction, you may voluntarily provide:

• Mood Data: The emojis or feelings associated with your laugh.

• Contextual Data: Names of people (“Who with?”) and locations (“Where?”).

• Notes: Free-text journal entries.

• Custom Lists: The names of friends, family, or groups you add to your “Manage People” settings.

B. Usage Data

The App automatically calculates statistics based on your entries, such as:

• Daily laugh counts and streaks.

• Most frequent “Laugh Partners” and locations.

• Time-of-day activity (for achievements like “Early Bird” or “Night Owl”).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data strictly for the App’s core functionality:

• To Provide Insights: Displaying your charts, streaks, and “Top Buddy” statistics.

• To Gamify Your Experience: Tracking progress toward unlocking Achievements (e.g., “Social Butterfly”).

• To Store Preferences: Remembering your custom list of people/contexts via standard device storage.

We do not have access to your data. All calculations and data storage happen directly on your iPhone. We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to outside parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: All journal entries are stored in a local database (SwiftData) on your device. Your custom “People” list is stored in your device’s local preferences (UserDefaults).

• No Cloud Sync: Currently, the App does not automatically sync data to a cloud server or external database. If you delete the App, your data will be lost unless you have a device-level backup (e.g., iCloud Backup).

4. Data Sharing

You retain full ownership of your data. The App includes features that allow you to share your data voluntarily:

• Share Cards: You can generate and share an image summary of your daily joy.

• CSV Export: You can export your entire journal history to a CSV file for your own records.

These actions are initiated solely by you. The App does not share this data automatically.

5. App Permissions

The App may request the following permissions:

• Notifications: To send daily reminders or quote notifications. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.

6. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Since the App functions entirely offline and does not require account creation, we do not possess any personal data of our users.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
